About the Workshop

2009 marks the seventeenth year of the NCSICA Children's Chorus Workshop. Limited to the first 150 unchanged voices, the choristers will receive instruction, materials, meals, lodging, T-shirt, keychain, and organized activities for a three day period.

At the culmination of their stay on campus, the children's chorus will perform for the middle and high school participants on Sunday afternoon, at 3:30 p.m. in Rosen Concert Hall, Hayes School of Music. Parking for this event is only available in the Stadium Parking lot.

This chorus is open to children with unchanged voices ages 8-12 years, grades 3-7. Counselor to child ratio will be 1:18. Directors are urged to chaperone their own students and may serve as counselors. Additionally, ASU also provides nighttime security in all dormitories. Every effort will be made to ensure the privacy and safety of each chorister!

Choristers will be housed two children to a room. We are unable to accommodate commuting students. Meals will be served in the university cafeteria, a short walk from both the dormitory and Hayes School of Music. Cost for the three days will be $225.00.

Registration procedures and late fees apply in the same manner as Middle/Senior campers. Due to limited housing applicants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Non-counseling adults/parents may register to room with their own child and attend all rehearsals for the same fee as the choristers.

A DVD/CD can be ordered in Rosen Lobby immediately prior and following the open rehearsal on Sunday. CD/DVDs will be mailed approximately 90 days after the close of camp at the cost of $25.00.

This long weekend will be a wonderful initiation into summer music camp for these talented youngsters.
